| VRC beef up security for future events |
The Victoria Racing Club has announced they will provide tighter security in and around Flemington stables for an upcoming music festival.
The action has been taken after revelers entered stables and released horses from their boxes during the recent Big Day Out Concert.
A panel of Flemington trainers including Danny O’Brien and Matt Ellerton met with VRC officials on Tuesday and they were satisfied with the revised security plans.
The revised program includes.
• Increased security to provide specific asset protection
• CCTV coverage of the stables complex
• Specific lockdown of the stables area on event days allowing only accredited access
• A dedicated hotline for trainers
The next major event to be staged at Flemington is the Good Vibrations Festival which will be held on Sunday February 21.
