Waterhouse keen on one of the support team

Champion trainer Gai Waterhouse never lacks confidence when assessing the chances of her runners and Saturday she’s extremely bullish about the prospects of Manhattan Rain and another of her Randwick team but surprisingly it wasn’t More Joyous.

Waterhouse said punters should be all over Dreamscape when the four-year-old entire by Choisir resumes in the Group III Southern Cross Stakes.

“You’ll be going straight to the bookies after he wins on Saturday,” Waterhouse said.

“He’s been a hard horse to train because he doesn’t try very often but he certainly has this preparation.

“I’ve had shades [blinkers] on him and I’ve worked him over a very short course and he’s just really loved it.

"This morning he worked with Rock Kingdom and he was literally outstanding.”

The pair galloped on a slow Randwick course proper and they covered 800 metres in 50.60 seconds with their final furlong in a tidy 11.70 seconds.
