Former Darley galloper Pondicherry looks to have conditions made to order at Taree on Tuesday.
Now trained at Port Macquarie, the daughter of Viscount has her first run for John Sprague and is the one to beat if she can replicate her Sydney form.
The three-year-old filly had four runs whilst in the care of Peter Snowden with her best run being a placing at Canterbury on debut.
With the likelihood of a wet track at Taree on Tuesday it is worth noting that the Canterbury placing was on a heavy surface.
“Former Port Macquarie racecourse curator Brett Adkins purchased the filly and gave her to me to train,” Sprague said.
“She has done well since she arrived at the stable.
“We’ve had a few problems but nothing the Chiropractor has not been able to fix.
“We took her to Forster last Saturday for a workout and she went well.
“Rod Quinn who rode her at her last run at Gosford told us to let her run along which is what she will be doing on Tuesday.
“My main concern is the inside barrier on a heavy track, they usually get wide at Taree when it is wet.
“Peter Graham has been riding her in all her work and wanted the ride on Tuesday.
“I expect her to run well.”
Sprague also has Commando King in the last race.
“He always runs an honest race and is an each-way chance on the wet track,” Sprague said.
